Comments for Roots of Consciousness, (self-titled)

E-MAIL: kcrimson@hotmail.com
I saw ''Roots of Consciousness'' open for ''Yes'' in Atlanta, GA on the ''Talk'' tour. I think it was shortly after the ''Roots of Consciousness'' CD came out. They were great! Robert Stallings did a cool drum solo. He''s one hell of a drummer. They all signed a poster for me. Matt Miller wasn''t playing bass with them anymore. It was when Wade Summerlin was playing with them, but he was really good too. This CD is at the top of my list! I can''t find anything else by them, but I really love this one!

Unfortunatly, the lead singer past away almost 6 years ago. Brian was the heartbeat of the band, quite talented. Very sad!
Roots of Consciousness is a Progressive (or Prog) rock or art rock band that seems influenced by Frank Zappa, Genesis, Rush, Led Zeppelin and other similar bands. The band is led by singer/guitarist/songwriter/sometimes bass player and sometime keyboard player...Brian Neuwirth. Neuwirth has a very sly sense of humor that seems to go right past most listeners and makes the album all the better for those who catch it. The other members of the band are: Bill Schuessler on Keyboards, Robert Stallings on the Drums, Matt Miller on Bass Guitar and Jay Taylor & Geoff Logsdon doing strange things that go unseen as well as even stranger things right out in public! If by some chance you have clicked a button and ended up on this page, and you don`t already own this CD, you really should go pick up a copy (you`ll probably have to order it from some obscure Prog distributor, just look for Syn-Phonic). It is one of my favorites and it seems very few people have heard it.
Thanks, Brian. Simon
