Ironically, some of Toronto film and spacemusic composer Mychael Danna`s most beautiful music has been inspired by the melancholy grey of the Canadian winter skies. Ten atmospheric "Skys" evoke these panoramas of rain, clouds, and fleeting sun. Acoustic oboe, flute, cello, clarinet and trumpet join Danna`s keyboards for a musical style he calls "orchestral romantic minimalism." Emotionally, it`s maximal- music of breadth, power, and profound feeling that recreates the timeless natural grandeur of the great Canadian skyscape.
