This is the album that put Elliott Smith on his way to worldwide fame - which he hates no doubt. This is lo-fi at its best. No grand arrangements, no mindboggling sound-effects. Just a collection of songs that grab you by the throat little by little. Great melodies, great lyrics. I put this guy right next to Neil Young.
