Comments for Can, Soundtracks

The other tracks are 'Deadlock Instrumental' and 'Tango Whiskyman'. 'Mother Sky' can still be considered a delightful menace to your loudspeakers, after 26 years.

Curiously, this album is one of my Can's favorites. One of its disadvantages is its lengs (too short). Full version of "Mother Sky" is far better than edit on "Cannibalism" (if you need yet another reason to bye this CD). I think that "Tango Whiskymen" and "Dont turn..." are usually underrated.

It's easy to criticise this album, but far far easier simply to enjoy it. Besides, how many critics have yet heard the tracks in the context of the original films?

I am getting to like this album much better each time I hear it, although at first it was a dissapointment. "Mother Sky" makes this album an essential and "Tango Wiskeyman" is cool in a quirky sort of way, although "Soul Desert" is simply awful, you'd think Malcolm was in pain or something.

I think ''Soul Desert'' is amazing...I mean,- of course he sounds like he''s about to pass out...that''s why it''s so intense. ''She Brings the Rain'' at first seemed embarrassingly hippy to my jaded ears,- but gained beauty with each listen.
Not very impressive save the 14 1/2 minute Velvets-styled squall of "Mother Sky". This was a collection of material provided for film soundtracks, and not Can at their most focused.
