Comments for Can, Peel Sessions

When I played this CD first, my pulse rate soared by additional ten bpm. Later I found that "Up ..." (first track) is about 3 minutes too long, but Can members knew better, "Tony ..." is strongly, er... mood - oriented, the others are GREAT!, even though I already have 3 versions of "Half past One" (on "Landed", "Cannibalism II" and here), I still listen to it with delight. Recommended for those who came to listen Can after being hard-rock fan. Ah, anyway, strongly recommended.
Tracks from BBC sessions 1973-74, mostly stuff not done elsewhere. If you give it a chance, it gains a lot of momentum and can be quite groovy. Basically it`s collective, groove-oriented improvisation. Track 1 with Damo Suzuki singing is strong stuff, like an "Ege Bamysai" outtake.Buy the albums first, but this isn`t bad.
