Comments for Raitt, Bonnie, Takin' My Time

A personal favorite of Bonnie's, this album might be her most rooted in Black musical styles. She covers R&B classics by Martha & The Vandellas and The Sensations, jazz greats by Mose Allison, and good old blues by Fred McDowell. She still remains close to modern stuff like Jackson Browne & Randy Newman, proving that Bonnie isn't firmly planted in the past. It's easy to see why Bonnie likes this album a lot, because it could very well be her first classic work.
