Comments for Carcass, Heartwork

Carcass is a coolest grindcore band and "Heartwork" is the best album
E-MAIL: muslhead@rhf.bradley.edu
Carcass' Heartwork is a brilliant fusion of bludgeoning death metal and straight-up rock-n-roll. This album is one of the most enjoyable contributions to its genre, as well as one of the most painful and exhausting.

A brilliant juxtaposition of melodic interludes and brutal, grinding rhythms. The lyrics reflect an abject reality more directly than on the group's previous releases, and are substantially toned down. Carcass have once again transcended the limitations of the genre to create another beautiful work of heart.

"Heartwork" is a beautiful masterpiece of music. I was severely impressed by its brutal melodies and mind-numbing musical intricacies.

Like another person said....the least disgusting album they have released. Their old stuff is disgusting and it sucks but this is like a whole new band. Check out the melody in the track "Heartwork" if you don't believe me. Too bad I have a feeling Carcass will go back to their sick, Satanic ways on the next album.

The person above is an incompetent fool. I was disappointed with the album cover. I wanted some body parts. GIVE ME SOME BODY PARTS! SWAN SONG BETTER HAVE SOME DAMN BODY PARTS!!!

Yeah, probably because your a sick-o bastard who thinks killing is the answer to everything. Most of us mature a bit and realize that music should have some melody.

I'd like to say to that fuckwit above me that Carcass for one: CARCASS have 5 very good albums... Reek Of Putrefaction, Symphonies Of Sickness, Descanting The Insalubrious, Heartwork and Swansong... for two: You (referring to the knob above me) are obviously not a CARCASS fan else you'd know that they are not satanic you dumb cunt...and if you knew anything about anything you'd probably know that...but seeing as though you are nothing but a wimp you can take Swansong and stick it up your ass :) thank you....

This is a weak album. The lyrics are clever, but the guitars have been tuned up and slowed down and demachined. The bass is transparent and the drums are wussy. It has its good moments but they are far outweighed by the shitty ones. Still this is a HUNDRED THOUSAND times better than 99.5 per cent of the albums that were released in the same year. And as for them being satanic, where the hell did you get an asnine idea like that? Read the lyrics from the first three albums and if you find even one reference to them worshipping satan.....

God damn it. I know the band is not Satanic themselves but IN MY OWN OPINION, I didn't care for the earlier albums with all the gore. If that makes me a wimp, fine, whatever. Anyhow, I've looked into the band a very lot and my only point is the band had some right to make a natural progression with Heartwork and Swansong.

It was to disapointing for me when I've heard it firstly... The big lost for me was mainly with vocals. I'm still not used with it, yet I'm open-minded. I think it was because the shock!!!

A great fucking album! HEAVY as shit but melodic. Much better song titles and lyrics!(C'mon, naming a song "Regurgitation of giblets" is just plain laughable!) Every time I'm in a record store I get a huge chuckle out of that as well as all those other cornball "death metal" song titles.

Beautiful melodic death rock. Jeff Walker's vocals are the coolest in the business, and I can't get enough of them (not to mention comprehend how he creates them).

Although heartwork is totally different that the band's earlier material, it got great guitar masterpieces and solos. A brriliant combination between rock and death metal!

I FUCKING LOVE IT

If "Eruption" by Eddie Van Halen was the groundbreaker for guitar players and "Reign In Blood" was the groundbreaker for thrash metal then "Heartwork" is the standard by which all other death metal albums should be compared to. Only band that comes close in terms of musical virtuosity is Death. Heartwork is one of my favourite albums of all time!

one of my main influences and inspiration being a drummer -just the way i love it -melodic and heavy
line-up: Bill Steer, guitars; Michael Arnott, guitars; Jeff Walker, bass and vocals; Ken Owen, drums.Least disgusting album the band has put out yet. Still really goddamn good.
guichpedrito@hotmail.com
