Each track on this album is great if listened to seperately. Taken together, the vocals tend to get tiresome and annoying. Instrumentation is unique and excellent. Powerful percussions and an accordion that kicks butt. I think I'll find a karaoke machine that will zap some of the vocals and see how it sounds. I was able to sample this CD before I bought it and if you listen to the first 10 seconds of each song, you will know why I purchased it!!!!! I give it a 10 for its powerful and unique sounds but a 7 overall.

I think that Carlos Vives's album is great! It adds a certain Latin South American flavor to the Latino Music community. It is also good exposure for other Columbian, or Ecuadorian singers to make their mark in the business.

I discovered Carlos Vives a Nicaragua, and, first time i heard "La Gota Fria", I wanted to buy the CD. He''s very good, the rythms are perfect.
