Comments for Atrophy, Socialized Hate

This is a really fantastic album of old-school American Thrash Metal. Atrophy were really ahead of the times with their lyrics - they dealt with so many topics that seem in the forefront of today's world: animal abuse; pro sports as a 'way out' from the streets; drug abuse; education system failing; prison system in the USA, etc. I always loved (and still do) their catchy riffs, rhythms and solos. Atrophy never tried to go 'too technical' with their music, but they also kept it very interesting for repeated listenings. Great choruses as well - they really help you remember what the lyrics are trying to talk about. Fantastic album, and an all-time fave of mine. Dale Lyons www.fearabsolute.com
