From BBC To CBC To PBS, Barrage World On Stage Hits The Road On A North American Tour In Support Of The U.S. Release Of The CD, VHS & DVD Barrage is a stunning visual and aural fusion of music, dance, theatre and song centered around an ageless and powerful instrument – the violin. Barrage takes the many traditions and styles played on the violin and combine them with the contemporary and world beat elements of percussion, rhythm, movement and energy to create a brand new form of musical performance. This original music elevates the violin to new and magical heights and features a wide range of musical influences including: Calypso, Swing, Country, Celtic, East Indian, Jazz, Kleczmer, Classical and Pop. January 9th saw the release of Barrage on CD with the VHS and DVD to hit stores on February 6th. As a stage show, Barrage is a stunning spectacle: a huge outpouring of activity, lit with rock ’n’ roll panache and presented with theatrical precision. The eleven-member band featuring fiddles, guitars, flutes, percussion, tambourines and a xylophone has captivated audiences in Europe, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. In addition to a busy schedule Barrage has been a feature show several times at EPCOT at Walt Disney World (where they are billed as the “hottest fiddle group”). Barrage has already gained worldwide media attention, appearing for millions of viewers on several international TV networks including PBS (USA), BBC (UK), CBC (Canada), Denmark National TV and ZDF (Germany).
