Comments for Tool, Lateralus

Tool's first album in five years sold an amazing 555,000 copies in its first week of release, totally blowing away the pop competition. Much more mellow than UNDERTOW or AENIMA, LATERALUS may be more palatable to music lovers who might not be ready for the sonic assault of those two albums.

The album grows on me. At first I was a bit disappointed at the long intro's on many songs but the more I listen to it the more I like it. I don't regret the purchase at all. Rob

Definitely agree with Rob. I was truly disappointed at first when I bought the CD and didn't listen to it for a few weeks. After about three weeks of not touching it, I popped it in again. A little better, but still not that great. By the fifth time I played it, I loved it more than any other CD I have heard. It grows on you in a scary kind of way and it will be the only album you will want to listen to if you give it the time of day to truly appreciate it. Excellent music. On my Top Three of all time.
