The Chills are most definitely a New Zealand band

The classic debut album ''Brave Words''was a hard act to follow, but still ''Submarine Bells'' is a successor well worth listening to. Although more accessible than it''s predecessor it still contains a number of songs that have that typical Martin Phillips unfathomability, which made ''Brave Words'' such a brilliant album. He clearly is the driving force behind the band that has been plagued by line up problems. ''Submarine Bells'' proves that The Chills were one of the most underestimated bands of the late eighties.
Members: Martin Phillipps, Andrew Todd, Justin Harwood, &James Stephenson. Although there a couple duds, this is generally a pretty good collection of tunes. The Chillshave a definite pop side to them and can come up with somegreat melodies.
