Comments for Clapton, Eric, August

In my humble opinion, this is one of Clapton's best albums. He assembled an outstanding back up band, featuring Phil Collins, Nathan East, and Greg Phillinganes. Although not as bluesy as previous Clapton albums, this is very mature, strong outing for him. And the live show: Well words cannot express the joy of seeing two of the most talented men in rock n roll on the same stage for 2 1/2 hours. Great stuff.

The most songs of this album are produced by Phil Collins and many songs sound like it was an album from Phil Collins. There is no Clapton-style - you can hear Phil Collins in nearly each song. If I want to hear Phil Collins, I would buy a CD from Phil Collins and not a E.C.-album. The best on this album is the background-voice from Tina Turner.
