Comments for Clapton, Eric, Rainbow Concert

This is a great LP but now it is a fantastic CD with 8 more songs. Yes they made good into great when they re-released this concert just a few months ago. I think it is one of the best releases this year. The new songs include: Layla 6:24; Blues Power 5:20; Bottle of Red Wine 3:51; Bell Bottom Blues 5:26; Tell the Truth 5:32; Key to the Highway 5:46; Let it Rain 7:11(excellent version); and Crossroads 4:18. The packaging on this CD is great with some nice pictures and a good bio about the show. Pete Townshend is very funny and Eric plays his butt off as always. A must for EC fans. On the CD are 8 previously unreleased songs like "Let it rain" and "Layla". A great CD!

Clapton at his best. The sound is of superior quality, as is the playing. Eric as well as the others who played at the concert are pretty funny, they often forget the words to some of the songs. But that just adds to the album. Definitely worth getting.

The original LP release was a horrible master - it was rushed out to get some EC product on the market. The CD re-issue is totally re-mastered, the sound quality is superb, and the version of "Layla" is the best I''ve ever heard - it is performed with the feeling of urgency present in the original Derek and the Dominos recording.
Excellent rerelease.
