The original Clash. Never better. Punk in its purest form...

This is not the original album from 1977, but the american release of 1979. It consists of several songs from the original UK version, plus singles as Clash City Rockers, Complete Control, White man in Hammersmith Palais, recorded during 1977 and 1978. Anyway, this is so perfect, sharp, savage... A must have.

This is the US version which came out in 1979, and it's actually (in spite of what the purists say) even better than the UK album of the same name with the same cover.

An original, classic. Sits next to Ramones first album and Never mind the bullocks.

This is one of Rock 'n' Roll's greatest albums, but I for one prefer the UK original to the US release simply because the recordings from the added singles are sonically different than the original album session, most obviously on "I Fought the Law." If you've ever heard the 45 of "Complete Control" you know what an explosive moment it is; in the context of an album, it seems tacked-on. Also, the US album has the 45 take of "White Riot", but the UK album take is far more incendiary. And why is the first bass-drum hit on "Janie Jones" missing from the US album? It would be wonderful if the original UK album were released as a US CD with the singles as bonus tracks at the end.

both these albums are very significant and both have a top ranking in anyone,s collection . they are both good in different times i.e. when they were released "77 " in britain when the likes of which had never been heard and in " 79 " when released in the u.s. so both are brilliant and were released at the right time for what was happening in the two countries .but as they say clash , rockers in the u.k.
