Comments for World Of Twist, Quality Street

f11982
The only album released by this group. The singles were "Sons Of The Stage", "Sweets", "The Storm" and "She's A Rainbow". "Life And Death" was the b-side of the "Sons Of The Stage" single.
criminally unknown album the cover of shes a rainbow worth the admission price alone

i just simply love it! namechecked by st.etienne on 'london belongs to me',(a track from the saints recommended debut album foxbase alpha),world of twist treat you to a 10track psychadelic pop trip that starts with the fanfare led intro of 'lose my way' to the frenetic instrumentation on 'the storm'. Inbetween make sure you listen to the relentless beat and sound of 'sons of the stage',the reflective 'this too shall pass away',the quality of 'jellybaby',the fantastic 'speed wine'(hey, hey, rocket girl!) the start of side2(those were the days!),the late night rainyfeel of 'lights',to,well, how COOL is 'on the scene' (off the scale!),'sweets' the most understated simple love song,to another great song called 'spring'(check out the aforementioned foxbase alpha)and then sadly the aforementioned end,to soon, sadly too soon, but not before giving this obscure masterpiece a well deserved 9out of10. I'm one of the lucky ones.i heard it,loved it,and also have a few of their 12"singles to boot.respect for 'this too shall pass away(chat)' on the b-side to sweets,as well as the wonderful rolling stones 'she's a rainbow' cover, and its various mixes. the last known world of twist track i have in my collection was a track called 'new electric pop and soul' a track on a compilation of icerink records(the record label ran by st.et's pete&bob, and including rather fabulous records by oval, sensuround, elizabeth city state, and shampoo even, before they were famous for 5 minutes!) i digress.world of twist quality street,QUALITY! steve rynne,april2005.
