Comments for My Life Story, Joined Up Talking

For their third and final album, My Life Story slimmed down to a more standard guitar-drums-bass-keyboards quartet, though much of the old orchestral sound is still there, the players just aren't officially credited as part of the band anymore. That said, there is a sudden flourish of synthesisers on this LP, and the presence of the experimental "Yes To Everything" and portentous "Two Stars" alongside beautiful ballads such as "I Don't Believe In Love", makes for a somewhat disjointed listening experience. All the same, perhaps the most accomplished of their three LPs.
