get it from www.boomspeed.com/flyingcow here's a review of it: From the ashes of VelvetX, an Orillia band known locally fo playing all types of music (everything from ska to metal), rises 'deadbitch', a two-girl group who also refuse to be limited or pigeonholed. In their Self-Titled debut release (available now on Flying Cow Records), these two creative and multi-talented girls do folk, rock, industrial-metal, power-pop, and techno in just eight tracks. When VelvetX's other members moved out of town, Anne Manson (17) and Amanda-Lynn Smith (19) were left to their own devices. It seemed like the only option to move onto better things, and with the material we've seen on the album, it's not unlikely. Deadb*tch, although far from being pop-princesses, could easily give successful two-member bands, like Ween or The White Stripes, a run for their money. Not only do they sound excellent musically, the lyrics actually have some meaning - Avril Lavigne could use some lyrics lessons from this duo. Like they did in VelvetX, Anne and Amanda's songs are reflective of society and most carry the same moral - "be yourself, be original, and don't be labeled"... and nobody could be a better example.
