Comments for Coltrane, John, Live in Seattle

No one is qualified to rate this music, not even those who can write every note. People can only rate their ability to understand. To even approach this music, one must know that its origin is several spiritual dimensions removed from this time and place. Who is prepared to go there? Who will undergo the purification necessary to even listen to the simultaneous improvisation on the second part of Out of This World? Play it over and over... Be patient. It might take lifetimes. You can not capture the essence of a holy man. But, but you can bathe in the lifestream of God's Love.

Live recording in Seattle Penthouse night club, made 30th of September, 1965. John, McCoy, Jimmy, Elvin, Pharoah & DonaldRafael Garret. The record made one week after the last "classic"quartet recording session ("Joy" - 22.09.65), the day before"Om" session. Experimenting with the group personnel, seeking for the new sound, Trane found here something really powerful. The "Evolution". This was repeated once more, in "Om". I`ve scored it ten.
