This box seems to me an exellent introduction to the works of Coltrane. Next comes an historical analysis. Who has the stomach to go through? Coltrane and Miles, Coltrane and Malcolm X, Coltrane and Charles Parker, Coltrane and Mingus, and so on. And so forth: Coltrane and Zappa, Coltrane and Beefhart, The Knitting Factory (John Zorn) ..... go on go on

Well, I DO NOT have this box set, and I`m wondering if it is worth the bucks... or if it is just a waste of time. I do not have many Coltrane albums from his Impulse ! years. Just A Love Supreme, and I plan to buy the Africa sessions.So aficionados, what do you think ? Is it a good journay, or just a frustrating résumé ?
