This has nothing to do with the forthcoming album (but then again, how much of this bitchfest is? hehe) but there is a British girl by the name of Estelle whose first single "1980" has seen her being branded as a British Lauryn Hill. The song talks about her life so far, the verses rapped with a British (but not too British) accent, the chorus sung, and all over a wonderful motown sounding string sample. It's like "Doo Wop (That Thing)" with a British edge...I suggest you guys go and download it to hear it for yourself, it's a great song. By the way, do you guys ever listen to British R&B artists? I know artists like Kevin Lyttle, Mis-teeq and Mark Morrison have done well in the US but do you guys take the time to listen to any of them?

So...it seems that Lauryn has her material ready and recorded (?). If she does, it's all on Columbia Records (or whatever label she is with) to release it + do any official press releases or any promotion necessary to get the sales going. I haven't seen anything yet. And I agree - it does not make any sense whatsoever to compare Beyonce or Joss Stone etc to an artist, lyricist, mc, producer like L Hill. They are comparable neither musically nor lyrically and seem to have different ambitions with their music. I am not the one to say that one is more talented than the other, but it is obvious that these women are just in completely different states of mind and at different levels of their career. Lauryn hill is the greatest singer and poet ever unplugged is my favorite album and this album is going to rock the house. i am a singer/songwriter my self and every song is just like hers...well her style. MTV unplugged changed my life around soo shut up about that skank beyonce she sucks she cant rap or make up her own stuff like lauryn.l peace out.

Basically on another board somebody had posted about that ashanti song sounding like exfactor. One persons reply was... 'Ashanti is way better than racist Lauryn Hill.' well i had to go on a rant. heres what i said... 'I hate doing this but im doing it anyway... dont be so ignorant. She isnt racist. Mi madre la peña como esta aqui de alborotada. Aqui debemos de aceptar que en pocos meses el album saldrá a la luz y las comparaciones son odiosas. En mi opinion cada cantante tiene su estilo y algo que otro no tiene. No podemos comparar a Beyonce y a Laurin Hill, lo unico que tienen en comun es que cantan R&B sus inicios fueron distinos y ha dia de hoy en españa Laurin Hill THE MISEDUCATION se sigue escuchando. Los hechos dicen mucho mas. A titulo personal Laurin Hill me ha enseñado a ayudarme a entender que no somos perfectos y que estamos aqui para respetarnos y ser felices. I can´t believe what I read about comparison between singers,this is not the way as every person is different every singer as well.
