I've been listening to the Afghan Whigs since their first release,"up in it",oh...since before you were born. not in long time have i heard a band grow like the Afghan Whigs.each album get's better leaving the one prior to become a classic.much praise goes out to Greg Duli for making somthing so good out of something so bad.(i.e.beak-ups,lies,etc.)-Brian,from JAMES BOND GOES SURFING.

One word, awesome. This album was my first contact with the Whigs, I truly love it. So much emotion, so deep and the music is incredible. It makes my blood boil, my hair raise, what else can I say but to buy this album. I wonder why they haven't caught on big? Maybe this will be the one? Whatever, I don't care if no one likes them, I love them. I just saw them on Letterman and one song doesn't do them justice. At first, some may have problems with the lead singer's voice, but you'll get used to it and realize that it ADDS to their incredible music! BUY IT, GET IT, LISTEN TO IT!

If someone asks me to pick an album that I thought was the most 'complete', ie, each song tells a story and each song varies from the ones before it or after it, I would have to pick Black Love. This album seems to cover just about every emotion just with the rythem alone. Its an album that makes you react. Honky's Ladder just makes you want to go out and beat someone up until 'Step Into the Light' comes on and then it causes you to offer a tearful apology to the guy.

An excellent album throughout, yet Gentlemen remains their finest hour.
Tasty treat. Still full of heart, with a tremendous influx of soul.
