i believe this to be there best album. there songs are truely unbelievable and everyone who has ever been in a state of depression should be able to identify with them.

This is my very favorite of all of their albums. I have many favorite songs on other albums, but this one as a whole is the best. There is an incredible range of emotions on it-from the Lament or Black-Eyed Man to To Live is To Fly. I am never dissappointed with the album and always finish listening to it, happy.

Although this album has its weak spots (the self-indulgent _If You Were A Woman and I Was A Man_ for example), the songwriting shows that the lyrical experiments of _The Caution Horses_ have paid off in spades. The title track, "Cowboy Junkies' Lament" and "Murder, Tonight, In the Trailer Park" are my personal favorites, as well as "To Live Is To Fly" (is this a cover of Townes Van Zandt, or did they collaborate on it? It's perfect for Margo's voice.)

Their best album so far, but hopefully they'll top it.

"If I Was the Woman and You Were the Man" self indulgent??? I beg your pardon!!! I love this song, precisely because it is unapologetically sappy --- but in as good way.

One of the greatest albums of all time. If you dare to disagree, e-mail me.
This is the third main release from the Cowboy Junkies (notcounting Whites Off Earth Now). Almost all of the songs onthis album were written by Michael Timmins, and they`re showing somewhatof a more pop/rock orientation than earlier releases.
