Comments for David Longoria, Montage

What a great record! This is the very first album from Seattle teenager David Longoria who plays with more conviction and passion than any of the current horn players. I am loving this record.

We can't keep enough of this record on the shelves. The first vinyl pressing was sold out in less than a month and for a jazz instrumental album that's a major accomplishment. Can't wait to see what David Longoria does next. Cheers!

hot hot hot- you can't go wrong with this album. The first track always calms me down after a stressful day at work. cool jazz. hot trumpet.

this trumpet player is very good. I play trumpet and David Longoria is a new favorite after this vinyl album. his style is so smooth and cutting at the same time. he plays so fluidly. very impressive.
great album and he was a kid when he made it. impressive stuff! favorites were his Castle In Spain (an original that ripps) and The Way We Were that is delish with his clear and powerful tone. Think vintage Al Hirt/Severinsen.

really good record! I heard this on kcrw in Orange County and looked for it and it lives up to the single on the radio. Longoria still plays and his new music is every bit as impressive. I found him on myspace music. highly recommended.

arrrrrrg! why does this guy have so much fun when he plays trumpet! really good chops and sounds effortless. only 7 songs so I would have liked to get more songs on the record but they are longer being jazz. this cat can really play tho.

nice!!! I have had the record since I got it at a yard sale last summer and its the best one I've ever gotten for 3 bucks used! I'd love to see him perform live. found his websites and waiting to see a concert maybe in Vegas.
David Longoria is one amazing musician! He wrote most of the songs on this album when he was a teenager and its just amazing what kind of quality this kid put into the album. really musical approach to trumpet playing and not a copy of anyone else I don't think. very original.
i'd like to find a copy of this record but it's out of print. anyone know if its out on cd anywhere?
IS THIS THE SAME TRUMPET PLAYER THAT IS AT DAVIDLONGORIA.COM? HE'S REALLY GOOD

great music here. classic stuff. I didn't know of David Longoria when I got this record but I am a fan now. a true blue talent
can anyone tell me if the artist is still putting out cds?
YA, go to www.davidlongoria.com nice site too
one of the trumpet club sites was complaining that David Longoria plays too much dance music but he's really good. I say he can play what eh wants if it sound good and people want to buy it. i personally like the instrumentals he does but he's the real deal. I'm not a Chris Botti fan but my ex was and she loves Longoria too.

this is an oldie but a goodie. I have had this album since I started collecting vinyl. David is a great horn player and he wrote all the songs except the Streisand song.

I like this music very much.David Longoria is great

Montage is a rare collection of tunes- mostly jazz that shows off David Longoria's remarkable prowess on the trumpet. If you're a fan of the trumpet you should have this album. If you like jazz the best cuts are Break Tune which is a 120 mph romp, and Castle in Spain which he plays Grammy worthy solowork. I have other Longoria recordings but this is the genuine article.

I got this on eBay but I remember owning it a long time ago. I would love to have it on cd but it isn't available on cd as far as I have seen. I remember seeing David perform at the Hollywood Palladium with his band and he was the highlight of the concert. I enjoyed the other artists including Spyro Gyra, Mark Antoine and Philippe Saisse but Longoria had the energy and star quality that made the show for us.

some of this music is still on KCRW website- I think they play the jazz songs.
