this album has a nice acoustic feel with country folk ideas. i found it very nice and different at first listen. not a very electric feel to this at first listen but i just got it. i like it though.

She wants to get away from that sexpop routine and it's either she gets serious about good music or she dresses in big frumpy clothes and clown shoes all day, so she went with the music for the most part. She could go back to dressing really sexy, tho, if she wants. Marvelous cd, tho, I must say. Gave it a 10. It's got very old time folk rock instruments on it. Very acoustic, sometimes forboding tracks.

I think Wild Hope is a bright sincere production effort that struck a chord in me for that day when the most electronic thing in the studio was an electric piano. If that is what you're hoping to hear, then this is your hope. For others, you might want to check this out for its up-front honesty as a record of inspirational session tracks. There may be something on here for everyone.

Mandy Moore has a way of singing with a theatrical sincerity that seems to suit her choice of songs. She's really thinking of the situations in the songs the way an actor might actually do it. I found this is also, however, very Mommas and Papas sounding material and she seems like she's been singing this type of music for a long time which she probably has been.

This has quite a lovely sound. Its a lot of folk instrument vibe. Real good. She could try soundtrack work.

I think I liked the tracks on this album. It's a good musical listen. There are some charming grooves. Mandy did awesome with the Coverage album and this kinda reminds me of it but the tracks are new. Mandys teen pop albums were like the other artists of the time but more musically founded. It's nice to hear her voice sing some songs closer to her liking.

I really love this cd, Mandy. I love you, Mandy. There is a special place in me for times gone by.

She does excellent live gigs so I'm glad she's on tour soon. She's been doing several good live gigs recently before the coming tour, too. Wild Hope is a delightful record. I love Wild Hope.

very very sincere numbers. the songs and the mixes are beautiful.

Although contemporary in style there is a lot of real folk music inspiration in this from the percussion to some throat singing influence in Mandys own naturally deep voice. Not any pop, but certainly touching upon the roots of real rock and roll, without a doubt. The contributions of the various vibrant songwriting talents to Mandys own aplomb constitutes a very tantalizing mix of contemporary electro-acoustic folklore.

Mandy Moore got into this business to sing good music, often folk, and not to jump on the bandwagon of generalized broadcast drivel with manufactured backbones. If she wants the real thing and shes prepared to get it then more power to her. Bring on the National Anthem Girl!! :)

This album has got a real winning sound with terrific production and mixing. The orchestration is on par with Mandys past records. Unless you want to date her yourself I don't see anything wrong with her male fans doing what they've always done anyway. Give them a break. She's recorded real good numbers here, man.

Mandy Moore has a certain large percentage of supporting adult male fans, many of whom have listened to her since her pop music disks. You should really give them headway. I think Wild Hope is another fine example of the widening latitude that this artist parlays into exciting entertainment ventures.

All these comments aside, this is a really great album. I like that she made an original album that has the feel of the Coverage album which I thought was a true rare form. The tracks have a true sticking power for new acoustic sets. 10 for Mandy! 8)

The tracks are really excellent though. Mandy never lets the fans down. The miking in particular has been particulary superb for this and Coverage. Keep up that mike work, Mandy. It's not easy to do that as consistently as she does it. The engineers have done a superb job.

I've found the only tour date with a less than expected attendance was for Charlotte largely because the college kids were starting school and they're always a huge segment for Mandy especially in a town like Charlotte. Her and the band are smoking hot live, and giving them a name would be cool. They could call themselves The Works cause with Mandy on lead vocals with the boys that's what you get.

some of the band members are mandy herself, o course, and gig legends michael chavez and daniel weatherman clark. it would be untimely cool if they formed a permanent or semi-perm band with mandy on lead vocals. maybe thats the plan. mandy could go back to charlotte to gig at a local university venue on a weekend. then she'd get an audience for sure. how bout mandy and the weathermen? mandy and the boys? the gigs?

Michael Chavez worked alongside John Meyer and was a member of the megalithic Hilary Duff band a couple years back which alone etches his presence into history. Daniel Weatherman Clark is from the supergroovy Modern Groove Syndicate. Yes, I agree the credits of the band says they can be a permanet gig to leave all comers in the dust. The music on the album is the kind you can reach out with, too. The bandmembers are the kind who can reach out and wupass when they want. Listen to Mandy do covers and you'll get an idea what I mean.

The artist has only had 2 cancelled dates now on the present Wild Hope tour which is good and only one due to poor attendance. She hasn't been on a tour in.... FOREVER!! Literally, 6 years or more with no real live venue dates!! I think since 2000 or 2001!! Amazing, but it looks extremely promising so far with excellent turnouts. The album itself is just amazing, which greatly helps. Don't any posers bash, alrite. She's done really amazing and we all support.

You're so right. Its a big new tour for her and only 2 cancellations. Thats really very good. And the shows are good musician shows. I like that kind of show. I hope she comes within 200 miles of me so I can go to her show.

She's really starting doing the music shes wanted to do. It will be slow at first but shes getting genuine listeners who stick by their artists. Its going well for a first tour. Sure she's had a couple of half sellouts and a cancellation. That should be expected as she plans out her touring of what to do and not do. Man alive, thats a dream tour for most artists starting afresh. Its more the level of Fall Out Boy now than Aerosmith but thats coming if she wants it. She might be content for Tony Bennett. Don't always say it's the management and that crap. They're testing the waters. You have to.

I love the music, too. It's not the razzle dazzle music, but more the enjoy the music music. She sang the national anthems of countries. She can sing up a great show. The band is smoking loud and a bunch of hot giggers. That they are growing a brand new dedicated fanship isn't a surprise. It's gonna happen. Stand by your Mandy.

It sounds like the coverage tecniques may have been used. i think its digital sim of mag tape, tube and vinyl disks and its done so well again it has me thinking what? i like radio djs who process their voices to sound like mag, tube or vinyl because i think they sound better. its the same for singers for me.

Iiiiiiit's Mandy Time! I'd have said its Candy Time but Candy Time has now been pre-empted for a more serious alternative to Candy Time which takes much less time getting used to. Beetle not included in most 2007/2008 models.

Honestly, if you can take the proverbial Few Days Down, go see her and the band in concert. You won't be undelighted. For the nostalgia and sentimental salute to the pop diva era of the late 90s alone its worth the ticket and the few hours of lounging to live kickass band music from a live band that will truly kick your ass. Mandy and the band put on a boiler plate special of a show.

You can watch good snippets taken during the concerts and tour on youtube, buzznet and myspace. Theyre snippets meaning theyre short duration but some of the longer ones are full song performances. Theres at least one of Mandy singing the new version of Candy. I guess fans can presume some of this will be made avilable on a concert DVD and/or video download.

i want to wash myself between my legs now because this is a beautiful thing to do and it makes me feel fresh and nice 8^D

I hope she can get to do festivals. I see most of the best concerts I get to see on the festival circuit and she'd be amazing if she did a few with the band. I'd like to hear the WH tracks and Help Me and One Way or Another. These tracks are priceless.

Mandys tour shows are great sounding shows with great sounding music. The cd is a real hoot, too. I like it. I hope a concert pack is available, too. Maybe they could broadcast a cable concert special from the tour footage?

Mandy fans in Southern California could try getting tix to her upcoming end of tour show in LA which looks to be an all out gig. She may sing all the Wild Hope songs as well as all the Coverage covers and Candy and other songs from the way it looks. That would make it a great 2 hour plus concert. It would be a really nice treat for me and a lot of fans if she'll sing Secret Love, Crush and Stupid Cupid, impromptu if she has to. :)

I'm going to see that whatever way I can. I hope she sings Only Hope and God Only Knows, too. This has the makings of being a very wicked set.

I'm very keen on her new sound which is technically her old sound and why she makes music in the first place. She's always fulfilled promise with her work that she gives the goods, and she does it again with this album. Wild Hope fills hope into this listeners ears.

It's comfortable sometimes to go places for celebs and not get cams in their face. The tour was great, especially for her first real tour since the Candy days. I'm delighted she's happening with the guitar these days, too. She said once she'd learn the guitar and she has already. :)

Mandys tour was a fantastic trip. She hasn't toured in so long and it went well. I've read there might be a few local dates scheduled in places, too, so I hope to hear about those personally. Wild Hope is wildly hopeful for great music. ;)

I loved it. Wild Hope is an awesome listen with crisp new tracks. Totally loved it.

I think it could benefit from a high-fidelity digital remaster release the same with the Coverage album. Its got warmth you don't usualy find on a lot of mainstream cds and mp3s these days. She's a champ in the vocal department.

I think the folk aspects catered to the folk enthusiast in me and shes definitely(!) got the voice that can belt out an aria or three haha so I`ll have to say I`m with Mandy Moore and her Wild Hope adventure.

The woman did really good on this. This is always a gamble and an oddity to tackle something unfamiliar with a large segment of your fanship but she made a priceless effort. Kudos to la Moore.

Electro-acoustic folk for large hall or barroom. Awesome sound helped by the great chicks superior vocals. Works really well live as I would guess it was intended. Some swell electric piano riffs and drum intros.
