the best thing Coverdale recorded in an album form. Mistreated is a blues classic, its solo being a monstrous display of Ritchie Blackmore's capability.

The first LP released with the new line-up w/David Coverdale and Glenn Hughes. A marked departure from the MkII sound, this album displayed Ritchie''s admiration for the band "Free". The choice of Coverdale as vocalist confirms the Paul Rodgers rumour and was a return to the blues roots hinted at on previous releases. Highlights of the album? Everything! From heavy riff-rock of Burn to the blues masterpiece Mistreated and the progressive mood of A200, this album is an ESSENTIAL for any rock collection and all Purple fans. Jim C.
Recorded in Montreux (like Machine Head)
