Comments for Deep Purple, Stormbringer

Machine Head is my favourite album in the Mark III lineup and this one is the best Mark IV lineup. A perfect 10 for me.

A surprise follow-up to the magnificent "Burn" Lp. Gone is the legendary drive and aggression of Deep Purple and in it''s place is a subtlety and grace few could have imagined. A mellower, funky groove dominates the tracks and I love it! The ensemble playing is still there, but instead of challenging each other, they work to complement each other. The most overlooked Purple Lp, this one got shuffled aside in the uproar over Blackmore''s departure soon after it''s release. That''s a shame because it''s an excellent piece of work. Another essential album in any collection. Jim C.
This often overlooked album contains some excellent blues-rockcranked out by what I think is the best Deep Purple lineup.
