Comments for Deep Purple, Live At The Olympia '96

E-MAIL: mhbryant@worldnet.att.net
Finally a truly live Deep Purple album. Previous "live" albums (except for the In Concert formats) have been basically a "Best of Live" recording. This one blesses us with Ian Gillan's comments between songs, Jon Lord's introduction of the horn section (yes, a horn section accompanies the band during five titles), and uncut organ, drum, and guitar solos. A must have if you want to here how Deep Purple sounds live!

One of Deep Purple's greatest recordings!

Great concert captured on this recording!! The quality of the recording itself is incredible!! The band is in top form and enjoying every minute of it! It''s great to hear classic Purple tunes live such as Maybe I''m a Leo, No One Came, Pictures of Home, Fireball, and When a Blind Man Cries! If you loved the Made in Japan album, you''ll certainly enjoy this one!!
The first official live relase from the currentline-up featuring Steve Morse on guitar. Very inspiredrecording, one of the best of the (many) Purple live records.

Deep Purple with a Horn Section?!? Man o Man what a beautiful thing! If Blackmore would've seen this he would've walked offstage and quit the band for the 75th time! Seriously this lineup is just getting started, and thanks to Morse, they will be around for another 10 years! If you like this live disc, pick up the live and rare DVD! Some great performances with Morse on there!
