Comments for Del Amitri, Waking Hours

This is a great albumn. I got the tape for 99 cents in the bargain bin. Stone Cold Sober is a wonderful driving song. Insert the cassette and off you go.

I first heard saw them late one night on MTV a few years ago. Justin Currie and ? did and intimate performance of "This side of the morning" It was beautiful. I was mesmerized. I soon got this Cd and they've been my favorite band ever since. Email me if you have info on their stuff eg singles, live, video.. I'd love to get anything else of theirs!

This is probably Del Amitri's finest work. I haven't met _anybody_ who doesn't love it after playing it through once or twice. If you're looking to get into Del Amitri but don't know which album to buy...you could do worse that getting this one. Email me if I'm wrong! Hell, if it's about Del Amitri, email me anyhow. Paddy.

Thanks go to Rich Hall's late lamented Comedy Channel show ONION WORLD for introducing me to the dels - they performed "Nothing Ever Happened" and to this day that remains one of my favorite songs. Really, the dels are the only band I was listening to in middle school that I still admit to liking. Anyhow, this is similar to but better than Change Everything - not as poppy and "adult alternative"-y. Close to the first lp for the "best album" title.

The first copy I bought of this was on cassette. I MELTED it before I could find a replacement cassette or CD. I bought the cassette two more times before locating a CD version. Obviously, I LOVE this CD & band!

DEL AMITRI IS UNDOUBTEDLY THE GREATEST BAND WHO DO NOT HAVE WIDESPREAD COMMERCIAL APPEAL OR SUCCESS. I WOULD TAKE THIS BAND OVER ANY OF THE SO CALLED ALTERNATIVE ACTS THAT HAVE SPRUNG UP IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. DEL AMITRI''S SONGS ARE IMMINENTLY HUMMABLE AND AFTER A FEW LISTENS, YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF SINGING THEIR SONGS EVERYWHERE YOU GO. IF YOU HAVEN''T HEARD DEL AMITRI, BUY EVERYTHING YOU CAN WHEN YOU COME ACROSS IT.
