Re: John Denver's Greatest Hits I've always been a fan of old JD. This particular album is unique in music history because, at the time of it's release, John Denver didn't have any greatest hits. It was a marketing gamble that paid off. The music on the album is timeless.

In 1981, John received a special RCA Award for this album. It sold in excess of 10 million copies in the United States alone, making it the biggest seller in RCA history. Most artists receive awards when they sell 10 million records (be it with 2 albums or 10 albums) but this album sold 10 million copies by itself, that is phenomenal.
