Best rap album of 1994. Mecca riding the top of the cymbal on "black ego" is one of the more beutiful sounds in the world.

these planets definately got their orbit rotating again on this second album. doodlebug got his wy on this one. true hip-hop heads know that they should be classified as a rap group even if they don't be rhyming bout glocks. the 1st single is the best. Holdin ground in manassas da Wiz.

Planets are the blest...sugar for your ears.

This planets joint was phat, but i still think Reachin'... was better. The live funk sound on this drop was phat though. in the times when mad rappers waste their time "keeping it real" or being "gangstas", the planets got not only paht rhymes, phat beats, and phat styles, but a message. Hip hop needs more groups like the diggy p's to elevate the minds of the listener.

Digable planets came back with a more phatter and jazzier cut with this album. Dial 7 really gets my mind going because their constantly flowing wiht some smooth jazzy beats. the shit is phat.

Digable Planets is it. No other artists have that smooth, jazzy, laid back style like Dp.

The new album by Digable didn't leave me disappointed. Their ability to come out with such a new style, which is completely oh-ridgnal and PHAT is unbelievable. This shit doesnt sound like any other album, or jazz whatever. Its perfection. The powers that be have apparently now caused the group to split- but c-know and Butta/fly will have their own stuff but what about Mecca? E-mail me (misdaq@mistral.co.uk) if any one has any info on the digables new direction.

Yo! DP's kickin' it with more of that funk stuff. This album has it all, and more. A mix of rap, funk, and jazz. Totally hip and stylin', DP's do it again.

This album is without question one of the most innovative, incredible, groundbreaking, on a whole other fucking level hip hop projects of all time. What kills me is that most niggas don't even know about this shit. It is now February 1999 and I am still listening to this album as if it just came out. If any of the Digable Planet members ever reads this, please know that you all still have a hell of a fan base out here for real and if ya'll came out with some new shit, ya'll would bring about more hip hop elevation and knock all of these savage so-called rap artist and rap fans out of their current throne. By the way, my name is JUMBE` FLETCHER I have been a serious fan of Digable Planets since day one. My uncle who goes by the name of ARTONI was originally suppose to do the album cover for Blowout Comb, he is an artist. If anyone out there gets any info on Digable Planets please e-mail me at fletchjg@hotmail.com of fax 302 764-7443 or fax ARTONI at 201 433-1813.

Again, Digable Planets have the idea, I *also* still listen to all there albums like they just came out and know every lyric and still ceases to bore me in any way, the only hip hop albums that put smiles on my face every gat damnit time I hear it, the insights are genius, and the beats are nothing but the shit. Thanks again for the great music if you all ever read this, you all are seriously underrated. Too bad Miles is''nt around to jam w/ya''ll, you would have been amazing. I got Doo Bop to dream with though.
Some fly shit, didn`t know which way to go after I heard it. Lost mysense of direction. We`re talkin about the Jazz-rap album to own.Whatchagonna say? This thang is to phly, phat, phunky, slammin for words.Aight.. on the serious tip, Digable breakin new ground from Refutations..Soundin smoother and they still know where they comin from.

Yo, I am Artoni and I just posted two(2) sketches that I did for Digable planets. One was for the Blow-out Comb CD, the other they never saw and was going to be for apparel-T-shirts and other promo stuff. The painting entitled: "In the Name of..." was originally one of the sketches that I developed for the Blow-out Comb CD. I felt such a strong vibe for the sketch that I went ahead later & completed the Oil Painting. To see my art visit:www.artoniworld.com/paintings08.shtml To see the pencil sketches visit: www.artoniworld.com/drawings13.shtml Digable Planets was and is an incredibly beautiful & innovative concept that lends itself to all kinds of soul stirring & intellectual energy. Even though I'm a jazz head, I wish they would come back because they did it right! Peace, Artoni
