The only way one can truly appreciate the power of this band is to see them live. I saw them the first time in a little club in Houston in 1991(i think) and I was hooked. Of course I was stupid and decided not to buy their stuff at the show and wait and pick it up at a record store....of course I could never find any. Finally they came to Cleveland (my home) and I went and bought every album and a T-shirt to boot. I told them I was their #1 fan here and they didn't doubt it. They were all extremely nice. The drummer,Wilf, even let me keep all my merchandise in one of his drum cases durind the show. It was a dream come true. The only two albums you can get a hold of, relatively easily, are the latest two (this one and Those Deep Buds) which are on Jello Biafra's California based label Alternative Tentacles. I suggest that you do.

And I always thought I was their number one fan. Imagine my surprise when the last time I saw them, the place was packed. I suppose that was with Sebodoh. I, too, saw them six years ago, in a little ballet studio in Maryland. It was amazing. I think I cried. I had never heard anything so perfect. Since then, it''s been rare. The Ex. Six Finger Satellite. Crass. But Marion and the rest of DFH will always be what opened my eyes to what punk could mean for politics and musical genious. Yum. May I meet them again some day.
Live album from the Dog Faced Hermans - recorded in Germany,Holland, and USA during 1993/94.
