Comments for Dokken, Under Lock and Key

E-MAIL: dpapp908@student2.uwsp.edu
Where Breaking the Chains and Tooth and Nail, laid the way for the mass popularity of Dokken, Under Lock and Key was their big break through. It features their single most recognizable and rememberable song "In My Dreams." This album continues their tradition of blistering hard rock riffs. Don contiues to write his tortured lyrics of relationships gone bad with "It's Not Love" being an excellent example. But he also departs from this to write a beautiful ballad of a girl hurt by others and now unavailable, "Jaded Heart." George Lynch also writes more of his tradmark guitar licks that continue to mark him as one of the greats. This album amrks Dokken as bonafide atraction and goes on to certified platinum.

This is the "coming out" album for George Lynch. His style of playing much improved over the last two releases, marks and elevates him to, "that guitar god" status. And thus generating a following that continues to this day. A turning point for the whole band, music wise, in the writing and the playing of all the band members. Long live George Lynch!! If you are a George Lynch fan, check out his "Sacred Heart" album. It is one hell of a guitar showcase!!

George Lynch's solo album is "Sacred Groove", not heart. Check it out though, its worth listening to.

By far and wide the best, slickest and emotional album ever created by Dokken. Wish they had kept this "sound".
