Nice representation of his mid-period, post-protest, pre-pop star icon work.

POP STAR???!!! What planet are you from? The day Dylan becomes a "pop-star" is the day i pitch his albums in the dustbin.

This was the first album I ever had from Dylan, and now, 43 albums later, I am a Dylan fanatic. This is a greatest hits package unlike any other, it contains songs and versions of songs found on none of his others. For example, the version of "You Ain't Goin' Nowhere" and "When I paint my Masterpeice" There has been and never will be another Dylan.

no two disc collection can encompass a body of work as rich and profound as dylan''s, but this is an extremely rewarding album. the sequencing is wonderfull juxtaposing great songs in a way that allows you to hear them differently. the mini- symphony from "tomorrow is along time" to "down in the flood" is brilliant.
Considering that this album comes only a couple albums since the last Greatest Hits, this isn`t exactly packed with "greatest hits" in the traditional sense. Lots of these are Dylan`s original versions of songs that were extremeley popular when covered by other artists. There`s nothing bad, exactly, but a few songs are a little questionable. Still, a good album overall. Nice to have, but not really necessary, and not as good as the other two greatest hits albums.
