Comments for Dylan, Bob, Empire Burlesque

A below average Bob Dylan album.

There is something about this Dylan album that repulses me. There is something about this album that intriques me as well. Overall its got some catchy tunes (Emotionally Yours, Tight Connection), some superior Dylan songs (I''ll Remember You, Seeing the Real You at Last, Dark Eyes, and some crap (Trust Yourself). Even the weakest songs in the set, when stripped of their drum machines, synthesizers, and backup vocals, reveal excellent Dylan writing. Overall a descent record, although not a first pick.

Better than what came after it, but not Bob at his best, either. Dark Eyes more than makes up for this album`s faults, however.
