Comments for Dylan, Bob, Dylan And The Dead

E-MAIL: jcmart@maila.wm.edu
Contrary to popular belief, the majority of the album is actually quite enjoyable. No, it's not Bob or the Dead at their best, but, except for the dreadful Watchtower and the singalong Knockin', everything is enjoyable, if forgettable. Even Joey is listenable. Queen Jane Approximately, Slow Train Coming, and I Want You are great.

Not one of the better Dylan Albums. Dylan is still ok, The Grateful Dead just take all the beauty out of the performance. But of course I''m biased because I hate The Dead. So if you like the Dead ignore this.
I`m a huge Dylan fan and a Deadhead. I saw the three east coast concerts that they did together and had a great time. That said, this is a very weak representation of that tour: this CD is a disappointment. The Grateful Dead play fine, but Bob`s singing, espcially on "I Wan`t You" and "Knockin` On Heaven`s Door" is horrendous. The song selection could have been better too - "Stuck Inside Of Mobile","Wicked Messenger" etc.
