A must buy album......One of his best at his best!

Denis Diblasio's Coconut Champagne is a standout on this otherwise bland live recording.

This is an incredible live recording! MF never sounded better on a live album! Matt Keller email for trades, chats...etc

I love the performance of "Lush Life"

Live From San Francisco Rules. I think his best album. Especially S.w. 21st Shuffle

I have this on vinyl. It was released in 1985 by Palo Alto Records, cat. no. PA 8077. It's not my favorite MF album, but I still like it okay.

Listen to the precision of the playing by both MF and the band of Be Bop Buffet, which is an awesome, and difficult, chart. I even like MF's notoriously bad singing on SUNNY SIDE.

This album is one of the greatest FUSION albums out there. Try to get a band to play some of these charts that are available! Especially Fireshaker!

Steve Wiest plays trombone like there's no tomorrow. His South 21st Shuffle solo burns with intensity.

Maynard could have recorded a hundred albums with this hot band and I would have bought them all. Great sound!

MF's compositions always will stand out (ala "Ganasha"). "Bebop Buffet" is something no ordinary Big Band would want to try out! It's that good!

Can you believe the sound on this album, this band is on FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like the way that Tim Ries structures his solo on the Indian fussion chart. Wicked chops on the buffet, and I liked 'Round Midnights ending that let him reach up to the sky!

I love "Coconut Champagne"...the other songs on the album are good as well, but to me that one seems to be the stand-out number.

Weist is great on this album; also a fab jazz professor. Have heard his jazz bands at UW Whitewater tear up Cocanut Champagne.

This was one of my first exposures to the fire and fury of the great M.F., so it is very dear to me.

Bebop Buffet is AWESOME! Chris Braymen's TROMBONE solo is amazing!

What a tight band - and to think that drummer Greg Bissonette went on to play drums for David Lee Roth! Maynard and the trumpets are HOT - Alan Wise plays lead - is this the first album after Stan Mark left? Please help me out...

My Jazz Band has played Coconut Champagne with Maynard's solo of course down 3 octaves, but great piece to play. 1st Trpt. part and 4th aree awesome to play!!

A definite must have. MF's musicality, control and precision as displayed on this live recording are among his best.

I saw Maynard live in concert when this album first came out. He played "Bebop buffet" and "Coconut Champagne" at the concert. The band burned them up!! "Bebop Buffet" was played at an incredibly fast tempo, faster than what is on the album. It was a great concert!!

WOW!!! This is a must buy!! Maynard does everything from singing to plaing his trumpet!! You can tell he abd Denis DiBlasio have great respect for each other by the way that they play together. On BeBop Buffet, Denis takes off on this legendary scat solo!!!

My FAVORITE Maynard album. EVERY song is a killer. From the opening trombone solo (which is just awesome) to the final chants! Ive never and I never will again hear Round Midnight played so cool then on Bebop Buffet. Cocunut Champagne is also a great song. I recommend this FIRST to anyone. Must have!

I was there during the recordings--both sets; it was magical. I sat front and center next to Kim F. and Herb Wong--they were blown away by Bebop Buffet--as was everyone else. The energy was too much to capture on recording--like a Poloroid of an Alaska sunset.
