Great version of "Mac Arthur Park." Since "MF Horn 4 & 5 - Live at Jimmy's" isn't available, this is the closest thing to that album there is! (A few of the same arrangements, band members, etc.) GREAT ALBUMS !!!

Great to hear a live recording of the "MF Horn" era, too bad the mics aren't up at the end of "Hey Jude", the trpts. are gettin' it!

I loved the CD. It is the same band that I saw when I encountered Maynard for the first time. It was great to relive those notes again. The trumpet section rules this cd.

This album would make any swing-lover puke, although I did enjoy it (to an extent). There's only so much of MacArthur Park I can take, and then when the rest of the CD sounds decidedly similar I have to yawn. This is okay, but there are better buys available.

Lin Biviano really kicks butt in this recording. His chops compliment Maynard''s style so well. Too bad it was a bootleg copy, we could have heard the trumpets at the end.
Producer: Dave KayEdited from the analogue tapes by Dave Kay (who did a wonderful job! May God Bless him).Email welcome to MF Fanatic E. Masseurs (edomass@ibm.net)

Great stuff from a great band and even greater time! Lin Biviano is a 'Mother' on this!!! Some trombone palyer is waaaaay too loud on this I think it was Billy Graham. Lots of "stretching out" here solo-wise, but a kickin' band.
