Comments for Ferguson, Maynard, Live from London

This album is sort of a retro album for Maynard. The big band sound without any electric sounds. Some of the best solo men Maynard has ever had! Good album.

This album should have won a Grammy! Great charts, HOT band, Maynard sounded great, and an incredible quality for a live recording.

Glenn's Den is a must for any bari player. As a bari player myself, I'm finding it very hard to find awesome bari playing. I can always turn to Maynard. He had Glenn AND Denis. What more can I say?

"This album is one of MF's best when it comes to music! His soloists are Phenominal and his band is tight as hell!"

This album has a HOT version of Tunisia - check out the quality of the trumpet work - Roger Ingram and Maynard in the same band?!?!?! They blew the roof off of the joint! I especially like "My one and only love" - Maynard's tone on the trumpet part (not flugel) sounds as it did in the 70's! Over-all an excellent effort that should have won some sort of Grammy! Send me Maynard e-mail!

This is an incredible album! Maynard's last few recordings just before this one makes him sound his age. But on this concert he seems to have rejuvinated himself with a vengeance! This is a great band and the songs and arrangements are top notch!

I would like to say that Maynard's band played exceptionally well on this recording date. Roger Ingram sounds great as always, and some NICE solo work is done by Brian White. One thing however, Maynard's intonation and solo work are certainly not what they used to be. Any jazz lover will have fun with this though.

Walter White is awesome. If you don''t believe me, check out "Fox Hunt." That is a totally awesome track. I love the others, too, except that ''Tunisia'' deviates a little far from the Dizzy original for my taste. Overall, whoop-ass album and a great buy.
