DUES is a re-release of a 1964 LP entitled COLOR HIM WILD.

What a good studio album sound! I think that this "relaxed" sound is interesting. Some good sound on "This Nite" and "Come Rain or Come Shine" is the ultimate relaxed Maynard! "Three More Foxes" is a little drag though, as this stretched out trumpet chorus outlasts its welcome. A REAL trumpet feature can be found on the album "Woody's Winners" in the piece "23 Red" by the great Bill Chase!

Dues is an absolutly amazing recording. It is a different sound so it takes some getting used to. This version of "Airegin" is probably my favorite MF song of all time.
