Great album cover!

This may be the best version of "Maria" on any Maynard album. It's kinda disco - but MF hits a double high C at the end (it's in the fade - so you'll have to crank it - but it's AWESOME !!)

El Vuelo & Airigen should definitly be repackaged and re-released.

In my opinion, the Star Wars theme is very high energy alternative to the original score. It ranks around the same as the Theme from Star Trek.
Check out El Vuelo on this one! A fiery tune that is similar to Conquistador, also released in 1977. Both areexcellent songs. West Side Story`s Maria is well representedhere, along with Sonny Rollins` classic Airegin (Nigeria spelledbackwards.) The Star Wars theme leaves a lot to be desired.

Sorry, I know I'm being picky but Maynard plays double-high C two times during the song Maria. The last time he plays double-C is when he plays the "Maria" phrase three times in a row - the last time ends at double-C. During the fade-out he actually plays over triple-C. My son (a trumpet player like his Dad) has just recently discovered this album because I recorded it from my old vinyl copy to a CD so that he can listen to it. I agree, it is a great rendition of Maria.
