Comments for Ferguson, Maynard, Come Blow Your Horn

E-MAIL: falken465@aol.com
This album rereleased in part on "new sounds of Maynard Ferguson and his orch 1964. fscd2010 fresh sound records.
Jacket cover remarks were done by Sid Mark. If you were a jazz lover and growing up in the Philadelphia area, Sid`s radio program on WHAT-FM (The Mark Of Jazz) was a treat. Every afternoon at 5pm he opened the show with a with a tune Maynard played during his years on the Stan Kenton band the title of which was simply called Maynard Ferguson. The end of the show was my favorite Maynard tune, Frame For The Blues.Come Blow Your Horn recieved a ton of airplay and I think was first album since leaving Roulette. The recording was much better than any of the ones recorded for the Birdland series. At the time, I gave the record a rating of 7 out of ten. Now thirty years later I am doing it again. If available on CD, grab this. It is a great listen.
