Birdland rocks!!!

Getzen was RIGHT! Get this album on CD PLEASE!!!!!!! Simply Awesome. Fantasy by MF is better than the one by Earth, Wind and Fire. Baker Street is a cool first tune to figure out. Battlestar Galactica ROCKS! Way to practice those High G's right Getzen? A must for all MF Fans like SCOTT WILEY!!!!!!!

Gotta have the CD. This was the first album in my kids' Maynard Collection. "Birdland" sizzles.

I have resorted to working up my own CD's for a lot of the "unreleased" stuff. By dubbing my vinyl to DAT and importing the digital file to my audio workstation I can burn a "clean disc" for myself. I just can't stand the thought of trashing my collection of vinyl by playing it over and over. Every time I listen to "Fantasy" from this album I am taken back to my collage senior finals week when I listened to this album endlessly. What a master.... Regards, Will Hammond

Please, please, please release it on CD!! The first time I saw Maynard live was during his Carnival tour in Sugar Bush, Vermont and I was hooked!

I'm glad there's so many people that love this album! We should all get together to get this released on CD, there seems to be enough support. Yes, Rob, this album is a good way to practice your G's, also Double High C's and D's!

Chalk up another vote for putting this out on CD !! Also, what a great version of "Over The Rainbow." It's equal to the version on the "Stratispheric" LP from the 1950's. A little over-produced maybe, but the double high G is awsome !!!

I have almost every maynard album available and this is one of the best i've heard from him.Its a great screamin album.

I agree...CD please. I had the tape and it is almost impossible to listen to anymore. Little did I know that it wouldn't be available again. Great recording!

Although the disco tunes on this album are not too hot, his re-recording of Stella By Starlight is not too shabby! Birdland was a one hit wonder! For those of you who don't have this album, stick to the Maynard Best Of albums. This album only has two good jazz oriented classics.

I don't really have a comment;I have an inquiry: Does anyone out there have a copy of CARNIVAL that they could tape and sell to me? I've been trying for years to replace the record LP I once had.I'm willing to pay anything within reason. Here's hoping, Raymond S.

If more of the tunes on this album were at the level of Stela by Starlight this would have been a true classic. A great collection CD set would contain the best of the jazz standads recorded by the M.F. bands from the 70s-mid 80s i.e. MF horn 1- Hollywood & Hot.

Fantasy is the hugest MF tune I''ve ever heard. I could never get tired of it. I only wish it was on a CD!!!
