Great album cover but with the exception of "Gabrial" this is not a very good album. Thanks Columbia!

Whoever thinks this album is bad, must be crazy. My favorite cut is "Om sai ram"

I must be crazy. Incredible display of Columbia Records idea of jazz. I particularly like the punching bag, Sly Stallone overdubs on Rocky II. MF himself has said, "I'm not particularly proud of this."

This was in his "playing a bunch of pop crap" period. Dayride, Naima, and the trumpet trio in Om Sai Ram, though, are worth the album price.

Alright, so I'm a Maynard fanatic, I admit it. For all other die-hard fans, this album is great. While ROCKY II Disco is not the best SONG, his high-note work is great, holding a double B, then lipping it up to the E above that. Besides, the OM SAI RAM tribute to Sri Sathya Sai Baba adds nice variety.

I saw the "HOT" concert in 1979 - it was great. Not only was Maynard in top form, but he had one heck of a trumpet section - Stan Mark, Joe Mosello, Dan Barber, Alan Johnson. The songs may be "disco" influenced (remember the Bee Gees were still big) - but the arrangements were excellent!!

One other note - Danny Seraphine - drummer from "CHICAGO" plays on ROCKY II - and Maynard returns the favor on "CHICAGO 13" and plays a mean solo on a cut called "Street Player." Check it out !!!

The only good thing about this album is the cover.

Well, I have to agree with most of you- this album IS pretty lame. Especially after the likes of Chameleon and Primal Scream. "Gabriel" is worth a listen.

This album is an incredible display of Maynard`s abilities.It`s another testament to Columbia`s desertion of it`s artists.
