I wish Columbia would get their act together. They had the greatest brass player of this century recording the "Theme to 9 to 5" and "Star Trek" plus sitting on awesome albilms when they should be on CD!

my personal favourite amoung m.f.'s albums. very unfortunate it is not available on CD. Mac Arthur's Park is sublime.

I think Give it One is a really awesome piece and I really want to get the album that it is on.

The tracks above are messed up. Actual tracks are Give it One, Country Road, Theme from "Shaft," Theme from "Summer of '42," Mother, Spinning Wheel, Free Wheeler, and Hey Jude.

The new track list (from sm...) is the right one. This album cranks! One of Maynard's best! My ears are still ringing from the last time I played my old (scratchy) vinyl copy...

My Jazz band played Shaft and I only play second trumpet but our lead trumpet player held the G all eight measures and he even drooled like Maynard!

"Give It One" and "Country Road" sound GREAT on this album - and even sound better in concert !! MF features his trumpet section a little more when live. I saw MF four or five times in the late '70s and early '80s - and he stopped playing these tunes around 1980 - too bad !!!

Hello everyone, my father was lead trumpet on this and other 1970''s recordings, unfortunatly he passed away 2 years ago however, PLEASE TELL ME WHO''S BUTT I SHOULD KICK TO GET THESE RECORDINGS RE-RELEASED. People all over the world have told me they believe these recodings are amongst the best Maynard ever done. Personally, well I''m biased.
So far, this album is available on tape with MF Horn One.Thanks again, Columbia.
