Comments for Ferguson, Maynard, Let's Face The Music And DanceE-MAIL: marks@keithley.com Check out the cover picture of MF with the bowler hat!E-MAIL: elmhurst@webtv.net This is a good example of what college kids were dancing to during this period, a sort of carry over from the 50"s,rock and roll was making inroads, but was not yet dominant.Maynard also was hardly the Lawerence Welk type.. so the kids loved his music, and after listening to it you will understand why from the exciting theme to the haunting ballad THE PARTY'S OVER.MAYNARD of course has progressed with the times, but this is a nice bit of nostalgia.E-MAIL: eetkins@netscape.net This is a great album and an example ofthe kinds of things Maynard played on his dance/concert presentations in teh early sixties. Arrangements by Willie Maiden, Slide Hampton, Don Sebesky and Joe Farrell this is a great set of songs featuring Maynard and an occasional solo by other band members. Maynard is Awesome.emergingnotions@yahoo.com This album, specifically the title tune, is the one that brought me to jazz. Maynard can get down as well as he can get way up.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
