This is a great album. The tracks with Maynard on them are incredible! The rest of the CD is also amazing. Any big band fan should try to find this. It is a lot of fun to listen to.

Maynard is featured on track 7 with the Stan Kenton Orchestra on the Ed Sullivan Show, recorded on 12/03/50, performing the Shorty Rogers tune "Maynard Ferguson."Maynard is recorded live with his band on track 8 performing "Hey There."The rest of the CD contains live performances by Duke Ellington, Harry James, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton, and Woody Herman with Bill Chase playing lead on 2 tracks.
