Simply amazing! any progressive rock fan would love thi sbeautiful musical craftsmanship, and a great but mysterious storyline. One of the best concept albums I have heard

Amazing rock epic came from Peter's fantasy. Musically well supported, mainly by Tony, to create a chaotic but extremely beautiful inner world.

This album was so far ahead of its time! It has everything an art rock fan would want from an album of that era. Gabriel's vocals, Bank's keyboards(The mellotron in particular)and Hackett's sound effect guitar approach create an almost disturbing emotional response. Everything on the album makes a statement and almost makes you get lost inside yourself. From a dedicated Genesis fan, I have to give this album one of the best scores possible! It is a shame that in that time when the boys were making that album that there was so much trouble within the band. Please buy it!

If you haven't bought this yet, now is the time, as the catalogue has been remastered. The first pressing of this disc was horrendous (sp?) with hiss louder than the music on quiet portions. The new pressing is fantastic. The definitive Genesis album.

The best album ever recorded! The masterpiece of the 20th Century. The greatest accomplishment of progressive rock! The most compelling, disturbing, moving, gripping concept album ever made! BUY IT NOW! 10/10

This album displays Peter Gabriel's talent at it's climax. I still think of it as one of the best mainstream progressive albums available. Phil could never produce anything to this level. The originial U.K. Charisma vinyl version is recommended for it's interesting label art.

Peter Gabriel could never again reach the greatest he hit with this album. The story of Rael is one of the coolest concept albums ever released. Hit points, like THE LAMB... and IN THE CAGE and SLIPPERMEN, make this album blow every other 70's album out of the water. I heard a rumor that Peter was going to do a reunion concert with Genesis and perform the entire LAMB. Is this true? Someone E-Mail me.

This is another essential collection here. It tells the story of Rael, a New York punk, drawn into a surreal world in search of his brother, John. The music coupled with the wild lyrics make this incredibly good. The playing on this record, especially that of Tony Banks, is very impressive here. Although every song shines here, some of note are the title song, "The Carpet Crawlers", "Anyway", and "Broadway Melody of 1974", along with "Back in N.Y.C.", are just amazing pieces of music. I have read that this is not the easiest record to get into and understand, if you are not a Gabriel era fan. It stands up well to this day, though. Sadly it is also the last record with Peter Gabriel, who left after the accompanying tour.
