This is a mastepiece in the world of progressive music. This album reflect the quality and the skill of Genesis for crea- ting magnificent lyrics, and complex music.

Firth of Fifth -- classic musicanship as all players make an important impact on this truly amazing piece.

The best of all Genesis work (followed by the Lamb). True integration of dynamism of rock music and musical quality of classical music master piece. Thepeak of Tony's musical contribution. Phill's drumming was great! (though I always hate Phill's vocal. The voice of Genesis, to me, is always Peter.

For me the mostest wunderfull thung is the greet vorcal by pheel who is wetter oh no zut sorry better than ppeetier any dey. I am liking genesis too much now for my own helthe! It's a shame that English people still think they're anally retentive nerds...Europe still loves them! Abacab! Abacab! Listen to Gabriel. Hear how someone can progress, while his ex-colleagues rot in their own mediocrity.

Yes, Tony Banks' intro to Firth has to be one of his musical highpoints EVER! Hackett's playing is all around and Collins' can strech out farther than in Lamb, which you can even say predates is some ways...

This is the first Genesis album I have bought. I just got this album on vinyl and it is the original pressing. I was amazed that it was taken care of so well over the last 25 years and that it was only 3 bucks, but once I put it on the first question was immediately answered. It is a wonderful and soulful album, and I already rank it among the best of my collection. It kind of sounds like Yes of the same time period, but mellowed out. Yeah, if Yes took a chill pill. The bass definately sounds like a Rickenbacker. Collins'' drumming sounds like Bruford''s more soulful twin. I like Gabriel''s vocals alot, they compliment the music very well. Every member of the band seems to be at the same musical ability on this one, which helps the consistnecy of every song, every solo compliments each other well. I''ve been singing the chorus of "I Know What I Like" all morning, it is a VERY catchy song! I can''t wait to hear the remastered version, but I don''t think i''ll part with the original!
This is the album released between "Live" and the Lamb.Various releases included inserts with lyrics (CharismaCAS 1074, Charisma 6369-944). US Atlantic release SD-19277had no lyric or picture insert.A superlative piano solo intro to Firth of Fifth by Banks, stellar guitar work by Hackett and the poppy hit "I KnowWhat I Like" are the high points of this release.

The best of all Genesis albums. Lyrics and jam sessions are extraordinary! I miss Genesis :(
Genesis -first among no equals (except maybe Yes with a difference). Dancing With The Moonlight Knight -great motion and how did Steve Hackett get that guitar going? Firth Of Fifth -wonderful keyboards, great organ chords and a brilliant, powerfully accompanied guitar solo. The Cinema Show -superb rhythm and keyboard combination with amazing riffs. Often in this album a fairy tale feeling. Inventiveness and virtuousity at its best.
