Comments for Amos, Tori, Y Kant Tori Read

This rarity of an album is well worth listening too, even though it has been noted that Miss Amos herself dislikes any reminder of her time spent as a "rock chick". In some places the tracks remind me of mid-80's rock music (for some reason, the song playing in the nightclub scene in Terminator comes to mind), whereas other tracks definitely would not seem out of place with her solo work - in particular "Fire On The Side" and the haunting "Etienne".

Can someone help me get this album somehow? I've looked everywhere! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanx-a-bunch!

Actually, this CD is VERY VERY hard to get a hold of.. for one reason.. there is a misprint.. the artist is printed as being Phil Collins on the original.. therefore, it is worth around $300 and not likely to be carried in your average Blockbuster Music store... Y Kant Tori Read and other Rarities, on the other hand, is much easier to get a hold of. In this one, the mistake is corrected and some extra tracks are added.. i picked it up for $35.. well worth it.. i love it.. it's more of a novelty than an actually CD you get to listen to the music.. i like to listen to it and think to myself, "Wow... the FIRST Tori CD... wow..."

I actually found this album in Miami, along with many other Tori releases Including The Unreadable Tori, many Tour CD's from Australia and Italy anfd Germany. I can Possibly obtain a few more copies of YKTR, but I'd have to mail overseas for them. If you are truly interested, E-Mail me.

did anyone ever figure out y tori kouldn't read?

The thinking was she couldn't read sheet music as well as she could play it by ear (or create it de novo). That apparently was one of the complaints of the instructors at Peabody when she was dismissed.

I think this album is not as bad as some people think. Tori has so much talent, but maybe she just didn't discover it yet I really like pretty much every song on this album.
